Three Evenings Out

The last few weeks haven't been the most active for us but Jeff and I are slowly making our own couple friends here. Its true when they say its hard to relate to single people anymore. Things are just so different. Even engaged couples are better than just any couple because they are generally married in all but the legal part. The drama tends to cease as to whether they are breaking up or not.

One night we decided to go with Kelli and her new almost fiance (pending the ring) to the beach. It was fun! It was actually pretty cold out but that didn't stop Jeff from deciding to jump in the ocean. He took Nala with him but even she thought it was a little bitter and didn't follow him under. Then we built a fire and had our picnic (home-cooked style for Jeff and I but Burger King style for Kelli and Blake). Here is our family pic. I stole Jeff's jacket so he got to be the man and tough it out. He sat closer to the fire anyway. I'm not that mean.

Later that week Chad (Jeff's best friend) came to Houston for a visit. We went out to Dave and Busters and had a blast. Chad is playing some gun game and I think Jeff is doing a booty dance... not really sure... guy time can be a crazy night!

Jeff and I decided to go hunting together. When I use a rifle instead of a shotgun I'm not too bad. I actually beat him shooting the T-Rex's (Buffalo for those of you who don't know why I call them T-Rex's). It was the most fun I had that night. I'm ready to play again!

Little did I know but there happened to be a Casino there! Not really but it basically was. You bet tokens that you can make this one coin fall but look at all the tickets we won. Too bad they used up half our inventory of tokens! Hello... I wanted to go hunting more.

So we had 1000 tickets thanks to the "casino" and Jeff got me a Care Bear!!!! Too bad the pic is all fuzzy. Oh yeah, don't get the suckers shaped into whistles for any kid!! Jeff got one and couldn't stop blowing that whistle all night!!! Whoever invented those was obviously not a parent!

Our last night out was a lot of fun! We went to Chucky Cheese's again. Yes I like to remind myself that I'm not a 26 year old and rather a young hip teenager like the girls I work with. So we went out with Kelli, Blake, and Kristin.

So this has been our life recently. its been fun having couple dates. We have another with a couple from a ward this Thursday night. Yay! I hate to say this but we are settling into Beaumont... temporarily!
