Save the Gobis!!!!! Down with Pirates!!

We have a serious problem on our hands people! Yep, the Gobi fish are having babies in captivity which can't live!!! Why, well one because they are so small and membrane looking that they don't even resemble fish but rather fish food! Yep they come out with thousands of them but the other fish think they are just being fed!!! So what do they do? Well these pirate fish just eat them and eat them and eat them like they have neverending stomachs! I was horrified!!
So of course I freak out and want to grab a cup full to put into another tank but am told they have nothing to feed them with. WHAT? So I google it and find out you need Lysochrysis. What is it? Who knows except that I needed some. You research online and find that no pet stores carry this stuff! Well thats just great! So now we are responsible for the thousand Gobi's that were alive last night and lived about 2 hours before they were all eaten by Pirate fish!!
SAVE THE GOBI'S & DOWN WITH THE PIRATES!!

True vs Fake - Just Some Thoughts

How can one tell if something is real or fake? When does life stop being a game of poker full of bluffs and deceitful faces and become something real and tangible? Why is that we seem to drag things out just to hold onto something in the hopes that it will eventually turn out the way we want? It's too bad we know in the back of our hearts that eventually one day we will have to let go. The tangible "dream" will eventually dissolve. It's only a matter of time before you become tired of the bluffs and eventually ask the faux pas to reveal its true form. When it finally does you find yourself relieved yet full of despair as that small hope you were clinging to has finally revealed its true nature and not to your liking. Why do we hold on to this so obvious faux pas? Is it because we find ourselves believing that if we just hold on long enough things might turn out the way we want? Can it be that we love the small piece that we have and for those brief moments it means more than all the agonizing moments away from it? I only know that I can no longer withstand the complete draining feeling that comes from finding out the truth too late. The moments after the truth is revealed when you find that though you have given too much of yourself and sacrificed everything that meant something to you has all been for nothing is too much to bear. A realization has come to me this past week and I now realize that my big heart will no longer be able to open up for fear that one more fake bluff may be dealt in this endless game of poker. I can't afford to lose anymore. Too many tears have been shed for the realization that one more faux pas has taken advantage of me and treated me as though I am a never-ending facet of water to quench their thirst and then toss me out when I am no longer needed. Just once I ask to be given something that is real, tangible, and full of truth. Just once…

Extreme Cruelty Owners Bestow Upon their Dogs

Has anyone paid attention to the cruelty we bestow on those we claim to love with all our hearts? Its baffling. I saw the movie Rocky Balboa last week and couldn't believe what I was seeing. He gets this old mutt that doesn't look as though it will last many more years and then takes the dog with him while he runs for his training. The problem lies in the weather he was running in. It was snowing and looked bitter cold. The poor thing didn't have a choice and was never asked if he wanted to run in the icy weather for miles on end. Then I remembered that I was no better and took my dog on long runs when I was training for the marathon thinking she would love it just as much as I did. The first time was 12 miles and when I got home she and I crashed on the couch and I noticed the pads on her feet were bleeding. Well two weeks later I took her to run 14 miles and thought she would have toughened up a little. To my dismay I found her bleeding again after the 11th mile and we had no choice but to make her run the next 3 miles as I was too tired to carry her. One protein bar can only take you so far. Poor Nala!
